Earlier this year the Georgia Department of Human Services’ Division of Family & Children Services announced the statewide roll-out of the new National Training and Development Curriculum (NTDC) pre-service training for prospective caregivers.
As of June 30, 2024, Training and Professional Development has trained 337 DFCS staff, foster home development contractors, and Child Placement Agency (CPA) trainers. As a result, 225 caregivers have completed the new NTDC pre-service model throughout the state. As a reminder, effective July 1, 2024, the agency will no longer offer or support the delivery of the previous IMPACT pre-service training. Contractors, who have not yet been trained to deliver NTDC are encouraged to sign up for one of the train-the-trainer courses offered now through December 31, 2024. View the current training schedule on IOTIS here.
