Dear Providers,

The Prevention and Community Support (PCS) section of DFCS needs your help!! We are hoping to add to the Georgia Parent Advisory Council, aka Ga PAC. The PAC is in need of parents/caregivers to share their voice to promote positive changes in services and practices to strengthen families and help keep them safely together. Please share our flyer with any interested parents and caregivers.

What does the PAC do?

  • Advise DFCS and PCS’s work with prevention and intervention services to the community.
  • Support and engage biological parents.
  • Serve as a voice for parents, promoting improvements to the services and practices in PCS.
  • Develop resources to create strategies for PCS in working with parents/caregivers.
  • Serve in various roles such as trainers, public speakers, reviewers of funding proposals, and contributors to written materials.

PAC Membership Requirements:

  • Willingness to share their voice and their personal experiences to inform a broader perspective on policies and practices.
  • Willingness and ability to work with PCS staff and a collaborate with a diverse team of council members.
  • Ability to travel within the state.
  • Ability to communicate by email.
  • Ability to participate in six teleconferences/webinars (up to two hours each), and up to two in-person meetings per year.

If you are involved or have previously been involved with a parent or caregiver that you think would be great in lending their voice, contributing to ideas, decisions, and policies, please provide the following contact information to them.
